Ingredients

  • 720 g (1 lb 9 oz.) seal loin, cut into 2.5 cm (1-inch) cubes
  • 4 slices of bacon, cut into 2.5 cm (1-inch) pieces
  • 2 onions, quartered
  • 30 ml (2 Tbsp) olive oil
  • 30 g (1 oz.) toasted sesame seeds
  • For the marinade:
  • 45 ml (3 Tbsp) sesame oil
  • 45 ml (3 Tbsp) sesame oil
  • Juice and zest from one lemon
  • 30 g (2 Tbsp) brown sugar
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 15 g (1 Tbsp) fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  • Prepare the marinade. Mix all the ingredients for the marinade and marinate the seal meat for 4 hours in the refrigerator.
  • Thread the skewers by alternating the seal meat with the bacon and onion.
  • Pre-heat the grill on medium. Oil the cooking surface and cook the skewers for 5 to 10 minutes depending on the desired doneness.
  • Sprinkle the skewers with sesame seeds and serve immediately.
